The benefits of bamboo

  • Bamboo is literally a weed and grows worldwide in diverse climates
  • Every four years bamboo can be cut/ pruned and it grows back
  • Therefore, there is no need for any gigantic plantations and their associated drainage
  • Bamboo is naturally anti allergic, so there is no need for pesticides
  • Bamboo helps against soil erosion and makes the soil fertile again.
  • Bamboo offsets 30% more CO2 than other trees

The benefits of bamboo

In my search for sustainable fabric, I came across organic cotton, hemp, milk fibres, recycled polyester and lyocell to make clothes from.   But eventually I came across the weed bamboo. bamboo weeds.

Because I wanted to make beautiful and comfortable clothing, but with respect for people, animals and the environment.

Bamboo provides real benefits, because:

  • Bamboo is literally a weed and grows worldwide in diverse climates
  • Every four years you can cut/ prune bamboo and it grows back
  • There is therefore no need for any gigantic plantations and their associated drainage
  • Bamboo is naturally anti allergy, so there is no need for pesticides
  • Bamboo helps against soil erosion and makes the soil fertile again.
  • Bamboo offsets 30% more co2 than other trees

    The benefits of bamboo clothing

Compared to cotton or polyester, bamboo clothing is also beneficial because:

    • It is soft, light and comfortable to wear
    • It is a skin friendly and breathable fabric
    • It takes in 3 to 4 times more moisture than cotton
    • It is easy to take care of in the washing machine and dryer
    • It lasts 2x longer than synthetic clothing
    • It provides UV protection and is thermo-regulating, thus keeping warm in winter and cool in summer making it an ideal fabric all season

The last point means that bamboo clothing is warm in the winter and cool in the m.

Thus ideal to wear in every season, to live consciously, minimalistic and sustainably.
